“On the last day of placement he said 'I don’t want to leave this is the best placement I have had’. Somebody else changed to learning disability nursing after coming to us for a placement! Some people with ld might be nervous going into the hospital. It is important for doctors and nurses to explain what is going to happen to you. Teaching the sessions helps nurses to think how somebody with a learning disability may be thinking and feeling.” – Lorraine Watkins
